Jennifer practices exclusively in the area of domestic relations.  This includes divorce, settlement negotiations, child support, child custody and visitation, pre-marital agreements, and step-parent adoptions.  She and Timothy T. Szabo work together on many complex cases, with one or the other being lead counsel, thereby efficiently dividing aspects of settlement and litigation between them.

Jennifer started her general practice of law in 1991 at large law firms in St. Louis, Missouri, and then Chicago, Illinois.  In 1994, she began her family law practice as the primary attorney of Project S.A.F.E., a domestic violence program sponsored by Americorps and the Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago. In April of 1996, she opened up the law firm of Murphy and Weiss, which concentrated solely in family law.  In August of 1998, Jennifer returned to the Washington D.C. area, joining the Family Law team at Szabo, Zelnick & Erickson.

In addition to her active trial practice, Jennifer volunteers as a pro bono attorney for victims of domestic violence through Turning Points.  She also accepts pro bono divorces through Prince William County’s pro bono divorce program.  She volunteers with the Prince William County Bar Association on the Beat the Odds program, which provides scholarships and community support for deserving students.

Jennifer graduated from Duke University in 1988 with a double major in Economics and Political Science, then obtained her J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis in 1991.

Jennifer is admitted to practice in Virginia, Washington D.C., Illinois and Missouri.
