The Family Law Section utilizes a team approach in representing each client.  Lawyers Timothy T. Szabo and Jennifer B. Weiss, with the assistance of paralegal and legal secretarial support, divide tasks among the team, thereby achieving litigation and negotiation objectives in an efficient fashion.  While one lawyer is typically designated lead counsel, a double tier coverage system is in place to ensure that clients always receive responsive and timely support. The team approach also enables the attorneys and staff to retain an institutional memory of each case, its status and objectives.  This increases efficiency and minimizes fees.

The Family Law Section devotes their practice to a wide range of family law matters.  Divorce issues include classification and distribution of property, pension and other retirement division pursuant to Qualified Domestic Relations Orders, spousal support, child support, child custody and visitation, relocation, and more.  Other issues include step-parent adoption, domestic violence and protective orders, child support enforcement, and pre-marital agreements.  We persistently work toward settlement, but understand that achieving favorable terms depends on our ability and reputations as aggressive litigators at trial. 

The Family Law Section primarily handles cases in Northern Virginia.
