The NIW is reserved for exceptional ability in the sciences, arts, or business that will substantially benefit the national economy, cultural, or educational interests or welfare of the U.S. Examples of basis for NIW include improving the U.S. economy; wages and working conditions for U.S. workers; education, health care, the environment and housing.
