B-2 Visa

WHO'S ELIGIBLE?

The B-2 Visa is typically used for tourism in the U.S.  However, it’s also possible to use same for: social visits to friends/relatives; health purposes; if coming to the U.S. to marry a USC but you will depart; and a variety of other reasons.

VISA WAIVER PROGRAM

Foreign nationals from visa waiver countries (i.e. most of Western Europe) can enter the U.S. with a visa waiver pursuant to the Visa Waiver Program. In most cases, this releases the individual from obtaining a B visa to enter the U.S. The visa waiver national can be granted an authorized period of stay of up to 90 days. However, extensions of stay or changes in status are generally not permitted to one who enters the U.S. under the visa waiver program. The individual must leave the U. S. before the authorized period of stay to avoid losing U.S. immigration privileges.
